Game of Thrones FX Team Teases Major Season 3 EPIC Battle

*MAJOR BOOK and potential TV Series SPOILERS AHEAD*

*
*
*
*

If there is one thing I'm really looking forward too as a major A Song of Ice and Fire fan is the third book's (A Storm of Swords)  EPIC battle sequence between two extremely fascinating characters: namely The Hound, aka Sandor Clegane, wonderfully played by the always awesome Rory McCann and Beric Dondarrion played by newcomer Richard Dormer.

So imagine my excitement when the FX team had this to say about the scene which includes Dondarrion's flaming sword:
Technically speaking, the flaming sword was definitely a process, in terms of getting it to work. We have these amazing stunt guys and CC Smiff who is a Sword Master, swings the swords so fast it takes a lot not to get the flame to go out. Laurence Harvey in the workshop turned this bit of aluminium into this flaming sword that ignites from nothing. It’s amazing. I think more than anything, I’m looking forward to seeing that fight scene play out.
So I'm really, really looking forward to that scene. You can have a nice little preview of sorts here:

New Awesome Game of Thrones season 3 Teaser Poster Teases A Storm of Swords

HBO has finally released its very first teaser poster for the upcoming third season of Game of Thrones. At first glance, there's nothing much to see, it's a simple poster. However look closely.

I love LOVE the three swords that signal the third season. It also harks back to the third book's title, A Storm of Swords.

What do you think?

Making "Heroes": An interview with Oliver Grigsby about writing TV and Comics

This fabulous interview is brought to you by our guest-writer Pamela Auditore

"Being a young writer in the entertainment industry is like being a kid at thanksgiving dinner. You're asked to provide entertainment but you have to sit at the kids table until you prove that you're mature enough and good enough to sit with the adults... Also there's pie!"
--Jim Martin "Heroes" writer /podcaster

With "Heroes" returning to G4 on Tuesdays, 8/7C Starting Sept. 25 (four Episodes in a row), I thought fans would appreciate a peak inside the process of making this ground breaking show from inside the Writers Room.

Among "Heroes" achievements, was launching relatively unknown and young actors like Milo
Vengtimillia, Santiago Cabrera, Tawny Cypress, Hayden Pentierre, Masi Oaka, Leonard Roberts, Noah
Gray-Cabey, Zachary Quinto, Sendhil Rhamaurthy, Ali Larter, Dana Davis, Dania Ramirez as well as
allowing veterans like Adrian Pasdar, Christine Rose and Jack Coleman to shine.

Allowing up and coming talent to shine also held true behind the camera, affording Oliver Grigsby his
big break. Going from gopher, to PA to writer's assistant, to Writer on "Heroes", you would think is the
usual route in Hollywood. Sadly, often it is not. Luckily, for Oliver, his talent was recognized and he was given the opportunity to write 12 of "Heroes" online Graphic Novels then was given his shot at writing two episodes in Season 3 "Shades of Grey" and Pass/Fail" in Season 4 "Additionally, he wrote "Slow Burn"-- a side story to the main action of Season 4 featured between commercial breaks and on the web which featured more of the Carnival story line as well as a plug for the show's sponsor, Sprint.

Continuing on his Hollywood journey, Oliver was recently a Script Coordinator on USA Network's on
"In Plain Sight."

See Epic lightsaber battle between The Mountain and The Hound from Game of Thrones S1 episode 5

Hi guys! Just a little something to cheer you up this morning. Nothing like seeing our Game of Thrones  friends from Westeros get into an EPIC fight Star Wars style. Cue lightsaber swishing sounds.

Especially since that fight is the one between Ser Gregor Clegane aka The Mountain (Conan Stevens) Vs. my very own personnal favorite: his brother Sandor aka The Hound (Rory McCann) from season 1 episode 5.

Ciaran Hinds cast as Mance Rayder on Game of Thrones S3

In a bit of very exciting casting news today, Rome's own Julius Caesar, actor Ciaran Hinds, has been cast as Mance Rayder, the leader of the Wildlings north of The Wall, who's also known as The King Beyond the Wall on the hit HBO series Game of Thrones.

Ciaran Hinds, who was recently seen on John Carter, is an excellent actor and I'm really excited about this news -- Though I have to admit I always saw the character as being more in his 40s, I'm more than certain that Hinds will bring the necessary gravitas for this important role.

Hinds is the second Rome actor to have been cast for the upcoming third season of Game of Thrones, the first one being Tobias Menzies who has already been announced as playing Edmure Tully, Catelyn Stark's (Michelle Fairley) younger brother and Lord of Riverrun.

Right, so I just thought this was wayyyy too adorable to pass on, so I'm putting this on my blog here (even though I haven't been here in AGES. Sorry guys).

It's the work of Gladys at Rocket Surgery and she has decided to draw up all our eleven beloved Doctors from Doctor Who as female Time Lords.

The first six Doctors are on the pic above and below are the remaining five:
So, what do you think? And which one is your favorite?

Is a real Star Trek Warp Drive possible? We have the answer!

I wrote this little piece about the possibilities of a real Star Trek warp drive on Blastr in early March.

It's rather interesting to say the least, even though there's a lot of scientific techno babble in there. Trek fans should be in for a treat :D
